About Hajj

Salaam. May peace be upon you. Welcome

About Hajj

Hajj is the annual pilgrimage of Muslims to Mecca that involves the performance of religious rituals at various sites in and around the
Holy City. It is known as the fifth ‘Pillar’ of Islam and performance is incumbent upon all Muslims, male and female, at least once in a lifetime, providing they are mentally and physically able as well as financially secure.

This website has been designed to help you plan your ‘journey of a lifetime’, outlining essential practical steps and advice. See other pages for preparing and what you need to do at each step of your journey.

Our main advice – don’t worry!  There always seems so much to remember but your Tour Operator, people who have been before, friends and family are all there to help. You don’t need to be an expert and revise every aspect in too much detail.  And most of all, don’t allow yourself to become too stressed trying to remember it all by heart that you lose the essence of what Hajj is about.

In the Qu'ran it states:

"And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way". Qur'an 3:97
